The Non-King's Speech

A brief letter from John-Paul and his warm wishes to you at the end of this year.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would describe this year as tougher than usual. Whether it's for ourselves or the world - we still haven't reached days much brighter than those before 2020.

On the other hand, it means those days are ahead, and we should make them happen, not just wait for them.

I'm not usually one for New Year Resolutions, I think if you really wanted to do something you would have started it by now and need not wait until an arbitrary change in the calendar. Still, they offer us a great burst of motivation and we should use it to our advantage.

I've just written a piece for Gents Cafe, which is soon to show up in their newsletter about the need to make our own special occasions, not to suffer from Delayed Life Syndrome; we should not save anything valuable for a 'special occasion' but instead make every day - where we can - a special occasion.

I read all the comments below any content I produce, and there's often the impression I live this good high life. I only show the highlights of course. I too had to leave a job I despised earlier this year, attempted to do well on YouTube, which went okay but not great, to start writing new articles all the time, to film more content. It's all still in the works, strategies have pivoted, and I'm way below where I'd like to be, but that's fine. The moral of the story here is that so long as you know your destination and have a clear vision, whichever way you get there is of secondary importance.

If I could offer one piece of advice to you for the new year: whatever it is you want - just start and keep going.

May the following year bring you all your wishes, if not the desire to get started on them. I know what I'd like to accomplish, and I hope you'll stay with me to witness it unfold. I can't thank you enough for joining and staying on this newsletter. It genuinely means a great deal to me.

I wish you a Happy Christmas and a happier New Year.
